Happy with our Hippos

In our Hippo Room, we place a strong focus on supporting and encouraging children’s agency, allowing them to make choices, follow their interests, and take an active role in their learning. Independence and self-help skills continue to be a key focus, with children confidently managing routines, personal care, and everyday responsibilities.

Our educators engage children in experiences designed to build ‘Pre-school Readiness’. Through fun, hands-on experiences, children practice essential skills such as pencil and scissor grip, early literacy, and numeracy, all while exploring, creating, and problem-solving in meaningful ways. Every day in the Hippo Room is about fostering confidence, curiosity, and the skills children need to transition smoothly into their next learning journey.
